The Phoenix Shatnez Laboratory serves the Shatnez checking needs of the Jewish Community of the Greater Phoeneix area. We are conveniently located in North Central Phoenix.

In most cases, garments will be checked and ready for pick-up three days after drop-off.

If shatnez is found in your garment, we will contact you and let you know what options are available for removing the shatnez.
The Shatnez Laboratory is self-serve, and can be accessed during most hours that the Phoenix Community Kollel is open. The lab is independently run by R' Dov Finman, Certified Shatnez Tester by NCSTAR of  Lakewood, NJ.

A
bout Shatnez Testing:

The Torah forbids us from wearing any clothing that contains a mixture of wool and linen. This prohibition applies to men's, women's and even children's clothing. Quite often many garments that require testing get overlooked.

Women's clothing, such as skirts, suits, and sweaters, may be shatnez, especially if they list "recycled wool" or "other fibers" on the content label. Shatnez could be found in any clothing containing piping, appliques, novelty yarns, or intricate embroidery. The same concern exists with children's clothing.
